Come on Guys, Stop Invasion!

 Affirm Position, Condemn Invasion!

The moment of national awakening is still gray. Indonesia's position is not firm. Still afraid. It's even more safe. Instead of following the constitutional mandate of the opening of the 1945 Constitution. Neglecting the spirit of national revival against colonialism. This context relates to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Which is still ongoing. As a result, Indonesia faces a dilemma as the leader of the G-20. Countries that oppose Russia's invasion of Ukraine plan to boycott the G-20 meeting in Bali.
This Russian invasion should be able to act immediately. How is it handled? Condemn the Russian invasion. Emphasize Indonesia's support for the struggle of the Ukrainian people. They defend their homeland. Who is being attacked by foreign nations.
Indonesia has experienced colonialism. No stranger to military aggression. Should have been able to empathize. Also feel. Not good. The pretext of Russia's invasion of Ukraine is not justifiable under any circumstances. This is the same as the Dutch pretext for invading Indonesia. This time Russia was the culprit to Ukraine. They are just looking for an excuse to seize the territory of another country. It tarnishes the sovereignty of Ukraine as an independent country.
Let's take a moment to examine the reasons for the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. There is some reasons. First, the Russian invasion to protect Russia from NATO aggression (European regional military defense pact). The critical question we can ask is, has NATO ever attacked Russia? Has Ukraine ever invaded Russia? The answer is clearly no.
The second reason, Russia invaded to protect oppressed Russian speakers in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The two regions are in Eastern Ukraine. Direct border with Russia. The question is, why did Russia interfere in the internal affairs of Ukraine? Aren't Donetsk and Luhansk still under Ukrainian sovereignty? Why should we intervene in the sovereignty of an independent country with military force?
These questions are actually enough for Indonesia to conclude that Russia has been proven to have carried out military aggression. It's not Russia's internal business. Indonesia should understand this. What if that condition occurs in Indonesia? What if Papua is attacked by the military of a neighboring country/other country? Will Indonesia agree to the operation to liberate Papua by other countries? Surely again the answer is no.
With regard to the G-20 presidency, it is time for Indonesia to be more assertive. Okay, if Russia is invited, the step of inviting Ukraine is also very appropriate. Because this is a symbol that Indonesia does not turn a blind eye to the Russian invasion.
But that's not enough. Indonesia should have condemned the Russian invasion. Remember the history of our independence first. Dmitry Manuilsky, the envoy of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, played a major role in urging the UN Security Council (United Nations) to investigate the Dutch military aggression against Indonesia.
In addition to condemning the Russian invasion, Indonesia should also condemn the massacre of civilians in Bucha, a city near Kyiev, the capital of Ukraine. The Russian military is strongly suspected of massacring civilians in Bucha before they resigned. Of course this atrocity is very concerning. As a country that upholds human rights, Indonesia should condemn Russia's military atrocities.
Indonesia also actually cannot use Russia's investment reasons not to condemn the Russian invasion and ignore the Russian military's crimes against humanity in Bucha. Quoted from the website of the Investment Coordinating Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BKPM RI) based on investment rating data, the value of Russian investment in Indonesia is not too fantastic. Throughout 2014-2021, Russia's investment value is USD 65 million or equivalent to Rp. 965 billion. This investment is much smaller than the two countries that were vehemently opposed to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Call it the United States and Britain.
The investment value of the United States in Indonesia during 2014-2021 is USD 10 billion or equivalent to Rp. 158 trillion. There is also the value of British investment in the same period of USD 4 billion or equivalent to Rp. 60 trillion. The value of this investment is many times greater than the value of Russian investment. So it is not appropriate for Indonesia to have a reason to protect Russian investment.
Finally, before the G-20 event begins, Indonesia must affirm its position. First, condemn the invasion that Russia launched into Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Second, condemn the crimes against humanity that the Russian military committed against Ukrainian citizens in Bucha, Ukraine. Third, encourage the International Criminal Court (ICC) to immediately conduct an investigation, investigation, and prosecution of alleged crimes against humanity committed by the Russian military on Ukrainian soil. Fourth, urge Russia to cooperate with the ICC. Regarding the investigation of Russian generals, officers and servicemen for crimes against humanity during their invasion of Ukraine. Only with this step will Indonesia be able to consistently observe
